Hi, I'm Richard Skins, a Dorset-based UK wedding photographer, dedicated to capturing the vibrant energy of your wedding to help you relive it for years to come
As a documentary wedding photographer, my idea of wedding photography is not your usual looking straight at the camera formal style, I want to capture the day as it was with all the laughter, love and everything in-between. I'll photograph all the excitement and even some of the nerves. I want to show exactly how the day was! Not some staged part, which only tells a fraction about who you both are.
I absolutely love my job and it felt very natural to try and combine this with seeing more of the world. I've been photographing weddings across Europe for the past few years and so far they have taken me to the Dordogne in South-West France, stunning tuscan villas in italy, gorgeous Lake Bled in Slovenia & even the south coast of Ireland. I'm now addicted!

""He was there at 8am and I didn’t see him sit down until 10pm. He must have been exhausted. He wasn’t intrusive at all. A fly on the wall. "We are so glad that we chose Richard to photograph our wedding - in fact he was the first supplier we booked in the whole process, almost 2 years before our wedding date! He has a talent for capturing the most fleeting of special moments in a natural yet artful manner; you can see the thought behind the composition of each candid photo without it ever looking posed or clichéd.
On the day, Richard was punctual, calm and friendly and had a gentle manner that would put anyone at ease. In the nicest way possible, he blended into the proceedings so we never felt that there was a camera there. When receiving the photo set we realised quite how magically present he was though! We have many beautiful pictures which allow us to re-live the various parts of the day as a cohesive narrative, from getting ready to the final sparkler shots. Our only sadness is that we can’t do it all again 🙂 Thank you, Richard!"
